A truly amazing Christmas day during World War I

It occurred on the front line between the British and German troops on Christmas day during the First World War. Some call it “a miracle”, others referred to it as “magical” and lots call it “inspiring”.

If you are not familiar with the fraternisation that took place on that Christmas day you are in for a treat when you read this article and photographs from the Smithsonian. Even if you do know what happened that day, as I was, it’s heartwarming at this time of year to see humanity spring up in the most unlikely of places.
